Billings is home to the Montana State University Billings campus. The hardwood at Alterowitz Gymnasium is home court for the MSU men’s and women’s Yellowjackets’ basketball. Kick-off your holidays in Bozeman at the 32nd Annual Christmas Stroll through historic downtown. Sponsored by downtown Bozeman businesses, the December 1st event is free. Join family and friends for a hayride, watch Bozeman light up for the holidays and get the kids' picture with Santa. The 2012 festivities begin with the children’s parade at 4:30 pm.
When you’ve about had enough of winter, Bozeman’s Gallatin County Fairgrounds Events Park livens up the season with the 2013 Wild West Winterfest. Enjoy an Old West winter experience February 16th and 17th, featuring traditional fair exhibitions along with a chili cook-off, dog keg pull and skijoring. Celebrate winter in Bozeman, the northern gateway to Yellowstone country.
In western Montana, the mile-high city of Butte is watched over by Our Lady of the Rockies. Visible day and night, the 90-foot statue sits on top of the Continental Divide, east of downtown Butte. The statue sits at an elevation 8,500 feet above sea level and is dedicated to women and mothers. If the holidays take you to Butte, don’t miss the downtown ice-sculpting contest on December 8th.
