Glacier Wind Farm

In service since 2008, Glacier Wind Farm is part the growing wind power initiative taking place in northern Montana. The wind farm is one of four NaturEner Wind Farms located throughout Glacier and Toole Counties – in-between Shelby and Cut Bank.

U.S. Highway 2 travelers will find it hard to miss the 25,000-acre farm, housing 140 towering wind turbines from the road. In fact, the turbines frequently become the subject of many traveling snap shots and family photos.

Marias Museum of History & Art

When traveling in northern Montana head for Shelby. A pleasant and quaint city, Shelby visitors make plans to explore the Marias Museum of History & Art – you should too. A free museum, the Marias Museum of History & Art features more than 10,000 artifacts from the city of Shelby and surrounding area – it's a real treat and gives you a better idea of the origins of Shelby.

Open from May 15th through September 15th, the Marias Museum of History & Art has been in operation since the early 60s. A par 72, 18-hole course featuring 6,779 yards of well groomed fairways, bunkers, water, and greens, the Marias Valley Golf Course is one of the top courses in the area. Opened in 1969, Marias Valley Gof Course is part of the Marias Valley Country Club, but you don't need to be a member to play – the course is open to the public. Drive in from Havre, set to the east, and try for the course record.
