Yellowstone River Yields a Full Day of Fishing
One of the most visited of all the United States National Parks is the incredible Yellowstone National Park. This impressive National Park is located in northwest Wyoming and south central Montana. Gardiner, Montana, is home to not only the north entrance to the park, but also to the beautiful Yellowstone River.
This 692-mile river, the main tributary of the Upper Missouri River, flows north, through the north section of Yellowstone National Park.
Following the Yellowstone River through the park, the river flows into Yellowstone Lake, the park's largest lake encompassing 136 miles and the largest freshwater lake in North America above 7,000 feet.
The Yellowstone River continues north from Yellowstone Lake and flows over the Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls, before continuing into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
